About maintenance ‘n’ shit…
Published 27 January 2012Last night ended with a crash of the awesomeness that is the Evolve app to track my gameplay, since I had a decent session of Darksiders.
When I woke up Evolve was down for maintenance and the Xbox API that I use was down for maintenance also, since they move to a new server or some shit like that (also the reason as why my xbox gamercards are down by the way).

ACTA worse than SOPA / PIPA

The demise of SOPA and PIPA, as temporary as it may be, means attention is now turning to ACTA (the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement). ACTA is a trade agreement that has already been signed by the United States and is even worse than SOP/PIPA. Trade Agreements do not require the same type of scrutiny that bills and laws do so ACTA was able to squeak by unnoticed. Australia, Canada, the European Union, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland and the United States are all signatories, but pressure is already being applied to other countries to join. The EU has not yet signed ACTA but has to do so before May 2013.
Let’s hope the EU will never sign this crap.

Bioware bans SW:TOR player because of meme
Published 23 January 2012Bioware’s weird banspree continues, last month they banned a player because he picked up loot that wasn’t even supposed to be available at his level, but they really did it this time…
They banned a player because of the meme “I’m 12 and what is this?”
In followup on this “message” he received a ban because it was in violation of the TOS for the game SW:TOR which states members have to be at least 13 years of age.
SOPA… seriously WTF!
Published 17 January 2012I don’t always approve the methods Anonymous uses, but they do have a point on the SOPA matter (or passed matters they fought against, if it matters), which could affect every person around the globe who uses the internet (and beyond).
I’m not an U.S. citizen, so why do I care?
It’s only a matter of time that YOUR government joins the cause of the United States government in a half-assed attempt to control the internet and the people using it.
People need to fight against this, since it will affect EVERY form of (digital) media all around the globe.
And this is just the beginning…
